Kriya Yoga
Kriya yoga philosophy is a form of yoga that is
specifically taught by lineages of Lahiri Mahasaya. Lahiri
Mahasaya claims that he has revived this form of yoga which was
initially lost in the older days. Today, many disciples and
descendants of Lahiri Mahayasay are teaching kriya yoga
philosophy all over the world. This form of yoga focuses on
controlling our life force through our spine and trying to help
individuals deal with self realization.
kriya yoga philosophy was supposed to be widely practiced in
ancient India but was soon lost in time when citizens had more
and more things to do and the priests became less forthright
with the ways of the yoga. In the year 1861, Kahiri Mahasaya
received initiation to the ways of the kriya yoga philosophy
through Mahavatar Babaji who was the immortal yogi.
As the immortal yogi gave the initiation to Lahiri Mahsaya.
He was said to have confirmed that the form of yoga he is
teaching Lahiri Mahasaya is the very same form of yoga that was
given by Krishna to Arjuna and was later spread far and
wide.
